    Cleary University bowling teams ready to roll with Auxter as coach

    HOWELL – Cleary University has added bowling to the growing list of sports in its athletic program and has named Mark Auxter as the first head coach for both the men’s and women’s team.

    "Bowling is a very popular sport that is quickly becoming a prominent college sport,” said Karl Kling, Cleary University athletic director. “We felt that we could immediate success with this sport if we selected the right coach and we feel we found that coach."

    Auxter has been the assistant women’s bowling coach at Brighton High School for the past four years. During that time he has helped the team qualify for state twice and a regional championship in 2011.

    Cleary University’s Tony Grams receives Academic All-American honor

    HOWELL – Cleary University’s Tony Grams, a senior from Fenton, has received Academic All-American honors from the United States Collegiate Athletics Association.

    Grams, a business entrepreneurship major at Cleary, had a 3.9 grade point average while playing midfielder for the Cougars.

    "Tony is one of our hardest working players on and off of the field,” said Greeley. “He gives 100% in practices and 100% in games. The fact that he was able to achieve his National All Academic distinction is proof that he also gives 100% in the classroom. This is the kind of young man that employers are looking for and we are proud of his selection for this honor."

    Cleary helps bring art to Detroit school children

    DETROIT - Cleary University, a business school, is helping bring art to inner-city Detroit children who would not otherwise have art class.

    The Arthur Secunda Museum at Cleary University is partnering with Art Road Nonprofit in Detroit to help provide materials for art classes to children in three Detroit Public Schools.

    “Art Road provides special arts activity classes, including supplies and an instructor, at no cost to elementary schools that lack art programs,” said Carol Hofgartner, founder and executive director of Art Road.
