Whether it’s mentoring or recruiting students, planning your class reunion, participating in the Alumni Association, or inspiring fellow alumni to make gifts, if you have time, talent, and energy to devote to your alma mater, there are many ways to stay active and involved with Cleary University:

Alumni Tuition Grants

Any Cleary University MBA or BBA graduates in good standing (both financially and academically) who have completed all requirements for their degree are eligible to receive a two-thirds tuition grant (67%) off additional classes of equal degree level. Students are expected to pay the remaining tuition and fees at the point of registration or they can opt to utilize the Cleary University installment plan. Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA (2.5 GPA for traditional students) and successfully complete the term. Alumni grants will be removed in cases where student withdraws or fails the class. In addition, dependents of Cleary University BBA, BS, or MBA graduates are eligible to receive a 20% grant toward tuition in a degree-seeking program. Please click here for more information and an application.

    Cleary Alumni Association meeting May 22

    The Cleary University Alumni Association will be hosting an informational meeting Wednesday, May 22, 6:30 p.m., Room 1 of the Johnson Center on the Howell campus.

    Becoming active in the association is a great way to professionally network, make new friends and help the University continue to grow. You can make the association what you want it to be! Just a few examples of alumni association activities can include:

    Participating and/or volunteering at the University’s golf outing;

    Summer picnic at the President’s home;

    Participating in/and volunteering at the University’s gala auction;

    Mentoring students;

    Involvement with Founder’s Week activities.

    Cleary University Men’s Soccer Team Signs Bedford High School’s Hice

    Devin Hice, a senior at Bedford High School, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Cleary University.

    "Devin is an extremely hard working athlete on and off of the field,” said Thomas Greeley, soccer coach for Cleary University. “He has a great work ethic and is a solid defensive center back.”

    “Cleary is a new program and its gives me the opportunity to play soccer at the college level, which has been my dream,” said Hice.

    Hice, a center back, was the team captain for Bedford, leading them to a 11-4-4 record. Hice was a two-year-varsity player and letter winner. He also won the Scholar-Athlete Award.

    “I like Cleary because it’s a smaller college that provides a more personal experience with teachers and other students,” Hice said.

    Hough takes over Cleary University’s men’s cross country program

    Jeff Hough, a Howell native, has been appointed as the head coach of the Cleary University men’s cross country team. His position is effective Jan. 1.

    Hough, a paramedic with the Livingston County EMS in Howell, earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

    While at William and Mary, Hough was a two-time All-American in the 10,000 meters (’91 and ’92). He also was the conference regional champion in 1992 and went to the Cross Country Nationals three consecutive years. Hough will be inducted into the William and Mary Athletic Hall of Fame in April 2013.
