The Cleary University Cougars currently compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The athletic department seeks to recruit, retain, and graduate young women and men and help them to successfully apply the leadership, teamwork, and discipline of their sport to successful business careers.

 

Cleary University fields varsity teams in men's and women's golf, cross country and soccer. Baseball, softball and lacrosse are scheduled to begin in 2014-coaches are recruiting now!

    New athletics Web site is LIVE!

    Cleary University Athletics has a new home on the Web and the URL is www.clearycougars.com.

    "It is a very exciting time to be part of Cleary University Athletics," said Karl Kling, athletic director. "There are a lot of great things happening and we wanted to be able to share them with those who follow Cleary University."

    The new site offers news, rosters, stats, schedules, scores, recruiting tools, features and more for the Cougars' newly reintroduced athletic program.

    SIDhelp is the provider of the site.

    Cleary reintroduced intercollegiate athletics in 2012 when it began men's and women's cross country and golf. Men's and women's soccer was added in 2013 and baseball and softball will take the field in 2015.

    Cleary University signs Beal City’s Hoogerhyde to baseball team

    HOWELL – Nick Hoogerhyde, a senior from Beal City High School, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Cleary University baseball team.

    “Nick comes from a great, athletic family and a top program in Beal City,” said Karl Kling, head baseball coach for Cleary University. “He is a tremendous student. Nick will fit perfectly with our campus and our program.”

    Hoogerhyde, a catcher, is a three-year varsity player for the Aggies. He helped his team to the state finals as a junior and was named to the all-district academic team the same year.

    Cleary University signs All-American Valle to softball team

    HOWELL – Ashley Valle, an All-American from St. Clair County Community College (SC4), has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Cleary University.

    “Cleary is incredibly fortunate to have landed Ashley. Ashley is an all American junior college transfer that brings to our team immediate power hitting and great defensive play at first base,” said Tim Bailey, head softball coach at Cleary University. “In her last year at SC4 she lead the team in just about every hitting category you can track. Ashley also brings a maturity that will be a great help in team leadership.”

    Valle led the SC4 softball team in home runs and hits and only had one error in two years.
