Work-Study Positions
All federal and state work-study students must be eligible for need-based financial aid, as determined by filing the 2008-2009 FAFSA. Must be currently taking at least 6 credit hours per term and maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Position: Financial Aid Clerk – Howell
Department: Financial Aid
Purpose: Support for the Financial Aid Office
Duties and responsibilities: Covering the front desk, answering phones, greeting students. Word processing, filing, copying, maintaining files, electronic data processing (drawing down SARS, Pell disbursements, making corrections, etc. any additional duties supervisor may assign.
Position: Office Clerk – Ann Arbor
Department – Michigan Quality Council – Ann Arbor Campus
Purpose: Clerical support for Michigan Quality Council Office
Duties and responsibilities: Answering phones, database development, preparing reports, compiling training materials, other general office duties.
Skills and abilities: Competent with Microsoft Office products, including highly developed Microsoft Word and Outlook Express skills and ability to use Excel to create graphs; Highly developed planning and organization skills with ability to multi-task; Self-starter with ability to work independently to accomplish predetermined priorities
Position: Facilities Support Assistant - Howell
Purpose: Assist facilities staff with grounds maintenance, building maintenance and building occupancy.
Duties and responsibilities: Maintain appearance of University landscape and grounds; maintain clear and safe access to buildings; room and equipment setup; backup support at campus center desks.
Minimum requirements: Must be physically able to perform duties both outside and inside during all weather conditions and able to lift and carry 70 lbs.
Position: Development Database Operator
Department – Development - Howell
Purpose: Provides database administration for Development office(s)
Duties and responsibilities: Compile the records of donors that appear in several working Excel documents into the University's development database (CAMS). Verify and code donor information in CAMS. Assist in other areas as needed.
Skills and abilities: Must be able to do data entry efficiently and accurately. Proficiency in the use of MS Excel spreadsheets and able to quickly learn special databases (CAMS).
