The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship includes Livingston County's first micro business incubator, the CUMBI.

Mission

The mission of the Cleary University Micro Business Incubator (CUMBI) is to provide guidance and low-cost assistance to the start-up and small business enterprise and foster entrepreneurship that will expand economic development and employment opportunities in Livingston and Washtenaw Counties.

Eligibility

Viable business opportunities that fit the CUMBI mission include: independently-owned, legal business entities with six to 12 month financial stability, no legal claims, and business plan ready. Tenants must agree to accept guidance and assistance from the CUMBI's network of support services. Services Low-cost office space and shared services including; copier, fax, printer, internet service, and meeting space. Managerial assistance on all aspects of business is available and the CUMBI provides exposure to educational and networking events such as Leg Up!, seminars, workshops, conferences, and courses focused on the start-up business phase.

Facility

The CUMBI is located in the newly-renovated Cleary University Welcome Center on the Livingston Campus in Howell, Michigan. No warehouse, manufacturing or fabrication space is available. Offices range in size between 150 and 300 square feet.
