Dr. Louis Petro has over 30 years of experience with the CMA exam. He studied under the originator of the CMA exam, Dr. James Bullock, at the University of Michigan and was one of the first people to sit for the CMA. From the time he obtained the CMA designation in 1973 until 1997, he worked with the IMA to write and review CMA exam questions, as well as to grade completed exams.
Dr. Petro has taught accounting courses at the University of Michigan, University of Detriot-Mercy, Lawrence Technological University, Eastern Michigan University, Michigan State University, Oakland University, William Tyndale College and the University of Windsor. In addition to his extensive experience teaching accounting, Dr. Petro has worked in manufacturing and public accounting, and has published numerous works covering topics such as managerial accounting, financial reporting, and governmental and not-for-profit accounting.
Dr. Petro is presently a visiting lecturer at Oakland University, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in managerial and financial accounting. He is also a senior manager at Cendrowski Corporate Advisors.
