    Cleary to host college savings plan day April 16

    HOWELL—Cleary University and The Michigan Department of Treasury’s Section 529 college savings plans, Michigan Education Trust (MET) and Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) are hosting a “College Savings Workshop” event on Wednesday, April 16th from 2-7 p.m. at the Cleary University Johnson Center Atrium located at 3750 Cleary Dr, Howell, MI 48843.

    Cleary University, MET and MESP staff will be on hand to educate parents, grandparents and others about saving for college and the college admission and financial aid processes. College savings experts from the MET and MESP will provide the features and benefits of Michigan’s 529 college savings plans and the opportunity to purchase a MET contract and open a MESP account. Cleary University financial aid experts will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns parents or students may have regarding college admissions qualifications and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

    Cleary implements new emergency alert system

    To help ensure the safety of its students, faculty and staff, Cleary has entered into a partnership with Everbridge to provide an emergency broadcast system that will send alerts via cell phones if warranted.

    Those who register for this FREE service will be alerted to situations related to natural disasters, campus safety and man-made threats.

    Subscribers, based on their choice, will receive emails and/or text messages via phone related to eminent danger. (NOTE: Your service provider will charge for the delivery of each message).

    Students and faculty should have received an email outlining how to register. Interested staff should send and email to alert@cleary.edu.

    If you need assistance or encounter issues, please contact alert@cleary.edu via email.

    The University will conduct periodic tests of this system to ensure it is operating correctly. The first test is planned for March 26.

    We want to CU at the next campus visit day March 15

    The next Cleary University Campus Visit Day is Saturday, March 15 at the Livingston Campus in Howell. The event begins at 10 a.m. For more information, call 1-800-686-1883 or visit www.cleary.edu/admissions.

    This event gives traditional prospective students the opportunity to learn more about Cleary University and determine if it is the right school for them. Parents are invited to attend as well.

    There will be information about: academic programs, career services, financial aid and scholarships and our new athletics program. You can speak to current students, faculty, coaches and staff.

    Campus tours and lunch are included.

    Wellness Center now open

    The Cleary University Wellness and Recreation Center is open!

    The center offers two basketball/volleyball courts, table tennis and a full exercise area, complete with cardio and weight machines. There is also a television in the exercise area.

    A monthly pass is only $25 or you can pay as you go. The cost is $5 per day for anyone over 21 and $3 for anyone under 21 (must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older). The cost for Cleary alumni is $3 per day. Cleary students and staff can use the facility free of charge.

    A waiver must be signed on the first visit and guests must sign in at every visit. Conditions of usage apply.

    The Wellness Center is located at 955 Grand Oaks Blvd. It is open seven days a week. Hours are: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, noon-5 p.m.
