HOWELL – Devin Hice, a senior at Bedford High School, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Cleary University.
"Devin is an extremely hard working athlete on and off of the field,” said Thomas Greeley, soccer coach for Cleary University. “He has a great work ethic and is a solid defensive center back.”
"Cleary is a new program and its gives me the opportunity to play soccer at the college level, which has been my dream,” said Hice.
Hice, a center back, was the team captain for Bedford, leading them to a 11-4-4 record. He was a two-year-varsity player and letter winner. He also won the Scholar-Athlete Award.
“I like Cleary because it’s a smaller college that provides a more personal experience with teachers and other students,” Hice said.
Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
