HOWELL – Cleary University is setting the table for a different experience for it’s annual auction to support student scholarships.

“We wanted to do something that was very different from what we have done in the past,” said Janet Filip, executive director of development for Cleary. “We wanted to generate community interest and involvement in a very creative way.”

The Designer Tabletop event, including dinner and auction, is May 4 at Cleary University’s Johnson Center. For ticket information, call 517-587-3009 or via email at auction@cleary.edu. Tickets ($175) also can be purchased online at cleary.edu/auction.

Auction guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite tabletop. There also will be a raffle for items from each designer’s table.

The evening includes entertainment by internationally recognized New York DJ Donna D’Cruz and the auction of ten luxury packages by Steve Gross.

Mike and Penny Murphy are the chairs for this year’s black-tie event.

“This is one of the biggest events Cleary University hosts every year,” said Mike Murphy. “Penny and I are very excited and honored to be a part of it.”

“We have more 20 designers who have already agreed to participate,” Filip said.

The list includes: John Gerych (Gerych’s Floral), Lee Gilles (Pierre Paul Designs), Becky Haglin, Jan Lyons, Todd Lampman (Todd Lampmann Designs), Lori Schonsheck, Tanya Rynicke (Tanya Rynicke Interiors), Mark Ephraim (Top That Event), Kim Bryant, Ron Daly (Ron Daly Designs), Anna Ancona, CW Interiors, Blumz, Sanid Bostwick and Barbara Sullivan.

This is the 21st year for the auction.
