HOWELL – Just days after announcing it’s new baseball coach, Cleary University has named Howell resident Tim Bailey as the head coach of Cleary University’s new softball program.
“The Howell area has a long history of great softball,” said Bailey. “Bringing this level of play to the area is very exciting and I'm thrilled to be a part of it."
“Tim Bailey has been active in area softball at many different levels ,” said Dan Riggs, director of athletics at Cleary University. “When you find coaches like (new Cleary baseball coach) Kling and Bailey, you hire them.”
Cleary University recently added baseball, softball and lacrosse to its athletic program. Cleary currently has men’s and women’s golf, soccer and cross country. The three new sports will begin play in 2015.
A graduate of Purdue University, Bailey has been coaching baseball and softball for the past 14 years in Howell.
Since 2011, Bailey has been the head softball instructor at Michigan Sports Academy (MSA) in Howell. He also coaches the MSA 18U travel softball team.
