HOWELL – Branden Mobbs, a 2011 Howell High School graduate, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer with Cleary University.

“I missed playing and heard that Cleary was starting a program,” Mobbs said. “I wanted to be a part of helping to build a tradition here.”

Mobbs, a striker, had 15 goals (including three hat tricks) as a senior at Howell. While at Howell, he was an all-district and all-region player. He also was voted the Highlanders Most Valuable Player for soccer during his senior year.

Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
