HOWELL – Elaine Lowe, a senior at Alpena High School, has signed with the Cleary University women’s cross country team.
"Elaine brings tremendous talent and passion for cross country to Cleary University,” said Sarah Boyle, women’s cross country coach at Cleary University. “I am thrilled to have her as a part of our team, as well as the opportunity to coach her. I know she will become a great leader in the years to come.”
“I am excited about the opportunity to further my running career at the collegiate level,” said Lowe.
Lowe is a varsity runner who earned all-conference honors and received numerous awards. She won awards for most improved, most dedicated and most valuable player. Her personal best time is 19:12.
She also is a member of the honor roll and honor society.
Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
