HOWELL – Breanna Thumudo, a graduate of Fowlerville High School, has signed a letter of intent to become the newest addition to the Cleary University women’s cross country team.
"I am excited to have Bre with us next year,” said Sarah Boyle, Cleary University women’s cross country coach. “Her leadership and passion for cross country will be tremendous as we move into our second season and become a stronger and more competitive team."
“This seems like the perfect opportunity for me,” Thumudo said. “I will be close to home and I will have an opportunity to run.”
Thumudo was the captain of the Fowlerville High School Cross Country team as a senior. She was a varsity team member for both the track and field and cross country teams at Fowlerville.
Her interest in business began in high school, where she was the manager of the school’s bookstore.
Thumudo also was a state qualifier in DECA, an organization which prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
