HOWELL – Brandon Benson, a graduate of Howell High School, is the newest member of the Cleary University men’s cross country team.
Benson ran varsity track his freshman year at Southeast High School in Deerfield, Ohio, before transferring to Howell High School. At Howell, Benson played varsity football and was a member of the bowling team.
“After researching several colleges and universities I felt that Cleary University best met my academic goals,” Benson said. “I want to become a certified public accountant and I feel Cleary University provides with the best opportunity to do that.”
“As we grow our program, Brandon will be a great asset to our team. Brandon works hard and has the potential to help the team in the future,” said Jeff Hough, Cleary University men’s cross country coach.
Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
