HOWELL – Christian Howe, a 2011 graduate of Tecumseh High School, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Cleary University.
"Chris is a tough competitor and an excellent addition to our team,” said Thomas Greeley, soccer coach for Cleary University. “I am excited that Chris has chosen to be a Cleary Cougar this coming soccer season."
"I have been coaching in Chelsea, but really missed playing soccer,” said Howe. “When Coach Greeley approached me about playing, I couldn’t turn it down.”
Howe, a midfielder/forward, led Tecumseh High School in scoring and was the team captain as a senior. He was a varsity player for three years and was an all-county, all-district and all-conference player.
“I like Cleary because it’s a smaller college that provides a more personal experience with teachers and other students,” Howe said.
Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
