Cleary University women’s soccer team signs South Lyon’s Colosimo
HOWELL – Paige Colosimo, a senior from South Lyon East High School, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Cleary University women’s soccer team.
"Any good team starts with a good defense. Paige's abilities as a goalie stand to make us a difficult team to score on. Paige will be a key member on and off the field.,” said Droo Callahan, women’s soccer coach at Cleary Univesity.“
"It’s a local school with a great business program,” said Colosimo. “It’s about being a part of the first Cleary women’s soccer team ever,” said Colosimo, a goalie and center midfielder.
Colosimo was a four-year varsity player at South Lyon East and was voted the MVP of the team her sophomore year. She was named to the all-district team twice and played for the Lyon FC travel team in the Premier League.
Colosimo is the daughter of Marjorie BordenKircher and Roger Colosimo.
Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
