HOWELL – Aleighsha Engisch, a senior from Linden High School, has signed a letter of intent to join the women’s cross country team at Cleary University.

"I am thrilled to have Aleighsha part of our team next year. She brings great talent and experience as a cross country runner,” said Sarah Boyle, women’s cross country coach at Cleary. “She will play a key role in the future to our growth and success as a team and be a great athlete to coach.”

"It just felt right joining Cleary,” said Engisch, a varsity track and cross country runner at Linden. “The best part is that I will get to run with my brother Cody.”

Engisch was named to the all-county cross team and competed at the state competition as a sophomore.

“I chose Cleary because I am interested in health care management and I thought Cleary would give me the best opportunity in that field,” Engisch said.

“She is a hard worker and persistent,” said Seth Normington, the assistant coach of Linden’s cross country team. “She is a gem and we are excited that she gets to continue her running career.”

Cleary University reintroduced its collegiate athletic program in 2011 when it formed teams for men’s and women’s golf and cross country. Golf and cross country competed in 2012. Men’s and women’s soccer teams are scheduled to compete in 2013. Cleary is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
