Déjà vu: The Graphic Works of Arthur Secunda, 1948-2005
“Graphic works” is another way of saying “original limited edition prints.” Over Secunda’s 67-year career as a printmaker, he has produced 355 limited editions. The current exhibition contains approximately two-thirds of those editions.
This exhibition corresponds with publication of a
Catalogue Raisonne of Secunda’s Graphic Works, 1948-2013
. Cleary University is co-publisher of this significant resource.
The Johnson Center houses collaborative works done by Arthur Secunda and his close friend Joseph Breton. Some of these are available for purchase. The 65 by 9 1/2 foot canvas Metamorphosis: From Darkness to Light is the largest collaborative piece and traveled all the way from Arizona to be added to our collection here at Cleary University. Other collections located in the Johnson Center include figurative works and the space series.
Chrysler Hall South has three new collections; the jazz series in the Music Gallery, the Bible series in the OT Gallery, and the portrait series in the South Hall.
Richards Gallery features rotating exhibits from accomplished Michigan artists. The current exhibit is Made in Detroit, with works on display by John Rowland, Oscar Hoff, Tim Thayer, and John Sauve.
Future Exhibits are in the design stage and will include Arthur's exhibit posters, mail art, sculptures, and some early works.
There are no admission fees.
