Cleary University and Pinckney Community High School have come together for the second annual Startup Weekend Livingston County, taking place October 21-23, 2016. Everyone is welcome to attend including entrepreneurs, college students and high schoolers interested in business.  Startup Weekend Livingston County will be held in the new Sentinel Center at Pinckney Community High School.

This 54-hour experience simulates life at a startup and connects Livingston County to some of the biggest names in high-growth entrepreneurship, such as Google and TechStars. Participants will also be connected to a local network of individuals interested in creating innovative and growth-oriented businesses.

At the end of the weekend, participants pitch the idea they have been developing to a panel of experts where the best pitches will win prizes.

“There are a lot of really great things happening in Livingston County,” says Dr. Marlo Rencher, executive director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship faculty chair at Cleary University. “We want to build on the momentum that Pinckney High School has generated with its new cybersecurity hub, the Sentinel Center. We want to support people with great ideas and the drive to make things happen. We want to connect the local entrepreneurial community with resources it can use to be successful.”
