William Tehero, '10

A Hawaiian native and recent graduate of Cleary University, William Tehero (BBA ’10) has always had a passion for nature: “I would live in the woods if I could," Wil muses. Since moving to Michigan, he discovered many plants grown in the state with medicinal properties. Wil and his wife Mindy pursued their passion for natural products and now manufacture a natural skin care line in their new business, Wilmin NatuReal Products, LLC.

Wil started dabbling with natural products while in his home state of Hawaii. Reading books, articles, and publications, he tried, unsuccessfully, to build a business. He then met his wife, Mindy and they moved to Michigan to be with her family. This move soon launched an adventure for Wil and Mindy.

Wil eventually enrolled in Cleary University’s undergraduate entrepreneurial program. He states with confidence that, “Cleary gave me the tools to effectively run a small business; something I couldn’t get from a book. I now know business ethics, business management, accounting, and many other important aspects of running a small business.”

After many unsuccessful years of trying to teach himself, Cleary opened the door for Wil and Mindy to realize their dreams. William gives tremendous credit to Cleary’s teaching staff. He adds that the instructors and faculty, “...are experts in their field. You build ongoing relationships with them. You’re not alone after you graduate.”

Using the knowledge gained from work on his Senior Project at Cleary, he and his wife started Wilmin NatuReal Products, LLC. Consulting with Cleary instructor Robert Bellenir, and his company, Entreprenuer Fuel, LLC, Wil and Mindy moved Wilmin NatuReal Products, LLC, online to http://wilminorganicskincare.com and they are pursuing other eCommerce strategies with a global focus on emerging markets in China and South America.

Wil graduated in June of 2010 from Cleary University with his Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship, and at commencement, won the Entrepreneurial Award for "developing a new business venture that benefits the individual, the community and the company in which the new venture is introduced." Wil is continuing his education with Cleary in the Master of Business Administration Green Business Strategy program, which focuses on management initiatives that are required to lead the sustainability focused organization.
