(HOWELL, MI) Cleary University invites girls aged 6 to 14 to participate in a free sports clinic at the university on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 10 am to 12:45 pm, on the school’s campus in Howell.
The purpose of the clinic is to expose girls to a variety of sports, in hopes they will get active through athletic programs. Cleary chose this date in recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Feb. 5.
This is an opportunity for girls to work with coaches and athletes in these sports: basketball, bowling, golf, soccer, softball and track. Students will arrive at 9:45 am, and the clinic will begin promptly at 10 am with a warmup led by Cleary’s track coach and bowling coach. After the warmup, the girls will rotate through four stations, working with coaches and athletes.
The clinic will take place in the school’s wellness center where Cleary athletes work out. The wellness center is located next to Lake Trust Stadium on the school’s campus. Just follow the signs when you enter the university off Grand River Avenue and west of Latson Road.
No pre-registration is needed. To learn more about the free sports clinic at Cleary, send an email to Leanne Nichols, assistant athletic director for Sports Medicine at Cleary: lNichols@Cleary.edu.
