Colin Ronayne is Head Coach for men’s hockey at Cleary University, which is part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, Division 1.
Ronayne graduated from Oakland University with a communications degree and worked as assistant men’s hockey coach at Oakland U. for two years before being promoted to head coach there in 2015.
He joined Cleary Cougars Hockey in 2018, overseeing formation of the then-new men’s ice hockey team, which began its first competitive season in 2019. Cleary continues to expand its sports program within the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, with hockey being an integral part of the university’s overall undergraduate athletic strategy.
Ronayne believes sports are an important tool for personal growth, and a great educational opportunity. He enjoys interacting with students and believes in Cleary’s business education model.
“Great life skills are taught through business,” he says.
