Cleary University is pleased to offer NEW ACCELERATED pathways to a bachelor’s degree for active Michigan National Guard members. These pathways maximize transfer credit from previous colleges and military active duty as well as build upon previous work and life experience to reduce the time and cost of a degree.
(MINGSTAP) supports undergraduate students with $14,400 per year for tuition with a lifetime cap of $86,400 per family (undergraduate). Cleary University builds on that by awarding Michigan National Guard active service members a generous scholarship, bringing out-of-pocket costs for tuition to potentially ZERO (after additional funds from the Federal Tuition Assistance Program are applied).

MINGSTAP is also now available to Family Members (FMs) – a lawfully married spouse or child (terms apply) as well as Service Members (SMs). SMs and FMs can use MINGSTAP alone or combined, not to exceed the SM’s year and lifetime caps.
Using MINGSTAP is mandatory, and if the student is the Service Member, they must also utilize Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA). Dependent students, however, are exempt from using FTA as they are ineligible for it. A recent update in FTA and GI Bill® regulations permits students to concurrently utilize FTA and Chapter 1606 (Montgomery GI Bill® – Selected Reserve). Given the requirement to use FTA with MINGSTAP, this allows for the simultaneous use of all three benefits.ge
