This course provides you with an understanding of health information technology and how it is designed to support clinical and managerial decision making in health care. Emphasis will be placed on the collection, storage, retrieval, and communication of data as well as information safeguards, ethical and legal issues, and patient safety and quality of care issues that relate to data storage and transmission. Electronic medical records and basic hardware and software concepts are addressed,
including the impact this technology will have on patient care.
