Dr. Tosha Brown Named Homer D. Strong Award Recipient

Cleary University is proud to congratulate Dr. Tosha Brown, Cleary’s Director of Enrollment Management – Public Safety Programs, on being named a 2026 Homer D. Strong Award Recipient.

This distinguished recognition from Wayne State University honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to their communities and professions—qualities Dr. Brown exemplifies throughout her career and continued involvement with higher education.

A Detroit native and first-generation college graduate, Dr. Brown earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems Management from Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business. Her academic foundation and professional journey reflect a lifelong commitment to learning, growth, and opportunity.

Today, she brings that same drive and dedication to Cleary University, where she plays a key role in supporting students as they navigate their educational pathways and work toward meaningful career outcomes. In addition to her responsibilities in enrollment management, she also works as an IT consultant, further demonstrating her versatility and expertise across disciplines.

Beyond her professional work, Dr. Brown has dedicated significant time to service, mentorship, and advancing equity in education. She has mentored students through the MPREP Scholars Program, contributed to initiatives that promote inclusion through the Organization of Black Alumni, and served as Alumni Association Board President. During her tenure in that leadership role, she helped strengthen alumni engagement and led fundraising efforts that increased contributions by 31% and then 40% in consecutive years.

Her leadership is grounded in a guiding principle that continues to shape her work and service: to whom much is given, much is required.

Cleary University is honored to celebrate Dr. Brown’s accomplishments and this well-deserved recognition. Her impact on students, colleagues, and the broader community reflects the very best of leadership, service, and lifelong commitment to education.
