Cleary University is proud to join MI College Match, a new statewide direct admission initiative designed to help more Michigan high school students discover and access college opportunities.
Led by the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) in partnership with education company EAB, MI College Match will connect students with participating Michigan colleges and universities through a streamlined direct admission process. Cleary is among the inaugural group of higher education institutions participating in the program.
Through MI College Match, students at more than 350 participating Michigan high schools will have the opportunity to create a profile highlighting their academic achievements, interests, college preferences and other information. Participating colleges and universities will then review anonymized student profiles and can extend admission offers and scholarship opportunities without students having to complete a traditional college application.
For students, the program provides an opportunity to discover colleges they may not have previously considered and explore their options as admitted students.

The initiative supports Michigan’s Sixty by 30 goal, which seeks to increase the percentage of working-age adults with a postsecondary credential to 60% by 2030. MCAN’s statewide college access efforts focus on reducing barriers to higher education, particularly for students who are low-income, first-generation college-going students and students from populations historically underrepresented in higher education.
The impact of direct admission is already being demonstrated through a similar statewide initiative in Alabama. During the 2025-26 academic year, more than 18,000 students participated, receiving more than 141,000 in-state admission offers and a combined $2.8 billion in scholarship opportunities.
MI College Match will launch for Michigan students on August 26. Students who complete their profiles by September 21 will be eligible for the first round of admission offers, which will be released October 5. Students can continue creating profiles after September 21, with participating institutions issuing admission offers on a regular basis.
Cleary’s participation in MI College Match builds on the University’s ongoing commitment to making higher education accessible and helping students take the next step toward their academic and career goals.
