Eligibility and Application Process

To be considered for the FWS program, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Cleary University encourages all students to apply for financial aid, as nearly 91% of our students receive some form of assistance. After submitting the FAFSA, students can apply online for student employment.

Rules and Regulations

  • Work Hours: Cleary University states that students can work no more than 20 hours per week while classes are in session. During periods of the year where classes are not in session (including summer semester), work-study students may work up to 40 hours per week, subject to approval by their supervisor.
  • Compensation: Students are compensated on an hourly basis and must be paid at least the federal minimum wage. Many students may be paid more depending on experience, position, and/or grade level. Fringe benefits, such as paid sick days or vacation, are not included in FWS compensation.
  • Job Selection: FWS positions at Cleary University are almost entirely on-campus, with a few exceptions. However, off-campus positions will likely be more competitive due to the low number of openings.
