(HOWELL, MI) Cleary University today announced the relocation of its Detroit Learning Center to a new site at the Jefferson Hub (JHub), located at 950 Selden Street in Detroit. The move marks a strategic step forward in the university’s continued investment in the city and its commitment to expanding access to career-focused education, professional collaboration and community engagement.
Following a review of opportunities to enhance its presence and partnerships in Detroit, the university identified JHub as an ideal location to support its growing programs and long-term vision for the city.
Housed in the historic former Thomas Jefferson School—originally built in 1922 and thoughtfully modernized—JHub offers a dynamic and professional environment designed to foster innovation, connection and collaboration.
“Relocating to JHub represents an exciting next chapter for Cleary in Detroit,” reports Jeremy Walker, chief operating officer at Cleary University. “This move allows us to better serve our students while strengthening our relationships with employers, alumni and community partners throughout the region.”
The new location provides access to a wide range of modern amenities through its connection with Bamboo Midtown, including:
- High-tech meeting rooms with 4K video capabilities
- Collaborative workspaces and shared lounges
- Access to additional Bamboo locations across Michigan, including Downtown Detroit and Royal Oak
These resources will enhance the experience for Cleary students, particularly those enrolled in public safety, business and professional programs, by providing flexible, real-world learning environments that mirror today’s workplace.
In addition to supporting academic programs, the new space will create expanded opportunities for Cleary to host networking events, alumni gatherings, professional workshops, community partnerships and collaborative programming in the heart of Detroit.
The relocation also positions Cleary closer to downtown Detroit, improving accessibility and reinforcing the university’s commitment to serving the evolving needs of learners, employers and the broader community.
Cleary University will share additional details about the transition in the coming weeks. The move is set to take place in mid-June. An open house event also will be announced, providing students, alumni, partners and community members an opportunity to tour the new space and experience the JHub environment firsthand.
