HOWELL, MI – Cleary University is pleased to announce an upcoming talk on the fascinating topic of “The Emerging Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Creative Arts.” The event, sponsored by the Livingston Fine Art Association (LFAA), will take place on June 27, 2023, at 6:30 pm at Cleary University’s main campus, Cleary Commons Building, Classroom 3.
The featured speaker for the evening will be Mark Siminski, a renowned expert in the field of Graphic Design. Siminski’s knowledge and experience in using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for artistic applications make him a sought-after voice in this rapidly evolving field. His talk will provide valuable insights into the transformative impact of AI on the creative arts.
In recent years, the use of AI for artistic purposes has experienced a remarkable surge in popularity. Siminski will shed light on groundbreaking applications such as Dall-e, Mid Journey, and Blue Willow, which have made generative image models accessible to the general public. By simply providing a text prompt, these programs can generate stunning works of art. Prior to these developments, the more common uses of machine learning were focused on image recognition and manipulation.
Siminski’s expertise lies in Graphic Design, a discipline that utilizes logos and advertisements to market goods and services. During his senior year of school, he embarked on a unique journey by choosing Artificial Intelligence as the subject for his diplomaworks project. He successfully coded a program that applies select artistic styles to photographs, offering a glimpse into the future of AI as a powerful artistic tool. While his project represents a rudimentary use of machine learning, it demonstrates the immense potential for AI in the realm of art.
This enlightening talk is a must-attend event for artists, designers, students, and anyone interested in the intersection of technology and the arts. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the rapid advancements taking place in the field of AI and its profound impact on the creative arts.
Admission to the event is free, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, providing an interactive platform for further discussion and exploration of this exciting topic.
