Degree Completion Pathway Program for Detroit Police Department Employees

Cleary University and the Detroit Police Department has established an education alliance created for working officers. Custom degree completion pathways are designed to maximize your work and life experience. These programs provide officers at every stage of their career an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Diversity, Leadership and Public Safety.

Highlights include:

Convenience:  Classes meet 1 night per week in 6-week sessions on-site at DPD Training Academy. 

Affordability: In alignment with your tuition benefits program, your maximum annual out of pocket cost is only $5,000 (including all technology fees and course materials).

Custom Design: Since no two officers are at the same place in their education, Cleary has crafted three custom tracks to help officers earn degrees: 

  • TRACK A | EXPERIENCED OFFICERS (8-12 years of work experience)
    • Degree completion program for experienced officers – 30 credits to graduation
  • TRACK B | MID-LEVEL OFFICER (4-7 years of work experience)
    • Degree completion for mid-level officers – 57 credits to graduation
  • TRACK C | ENTRY-LEVEL OFFICER (1-3 years of work experience)
    • Degree completion for entry-Level officers – 81 credits to graduation

Credits:  We understand that learning takes place beyond the classroom. Cleary has established a Prior Learning Assessment Process to save you time and money toward your degree. 

Priority Enrollment & Registration:  DPD students receive concierge support to ensure a hassle-free admissions and enrollment process.  

Team-Oriented: With cohort-based pathways, DPD employees study and work together during programs of study.
