2024-25 FAFSA Help

We are aware that completing and updating your 2024-25 FAFSA has been a challenging process this year.  The changes that the Department of Education has been making to the FAFSA form to help make the process easier for students has caused all of us to have to be flexible as they work through issues that are certain to pop up when changes of this scale are implemented.  We appreciate your patience!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

As new information and guidance are being released on an almost daily basis, we wanted to give you a bit of help if you have questions as you complete your FAFSA.  Here are some of the most common issues that students have encountered, and where you can go for help.
At Cleary University, the summer 2024 semester is still part of the 23-24 academic year.  You will want to complete your 2023-24 FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.

Below the buttons to access your 2024-25 FAFSA Form it asks if you “Need to access last year’s form?”  Click on Start or Edit a 2023-24 FAFSA Form to complete the FAFSA for this summer.  And don’t worry – if you have already completed your 24-25 FAFSA, we will be using that to put together your 24-25 financial aid offer!
We are aware that the Department of Education is working on beginning to allow students to make changes to their submitted FAFSA’s.  It is our understanding that some students should now be able to access their form to makes changes.  If you try and you are still unable to access your FAFSA, there should be a message giving you an update on the situation when you log in at studentaid.gov.

The Department has provided step-by-step instructions on how to correct or add information as required at https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/review-and-correct/correct.

If you accidentally said Yes to this question, you will not be considered for other types of federal aid such as the Pell Grant, Federal-Work Study, Direct Subsidized Loans, or State grants.  If you know that you chose “Yes” in error, please follow the directions at  https://studentaid.gov/apply-for-aid/fafsa/review-and-correct/correct#change-answer to invite your parents to add their information to your FASFA.  If you intended to choose “Yes” when answering this question, the Financial Aid Office will be reaching out to you for additional information, so please keep an eye on your email.
The best way to get help when you are having issues within your FAFSA is to contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center.  They have the most current information on issues, along with solutions to help you complete your FAFSA.  You can use the Live Chat, give them a call or email.  Contact information can be found at https://studentaid.gov/help-center/contact.  For those of you wishing to call the Center, the number is 800-433-3243.

We hope that these FAQ’s have been helpful, and we will continue to update and add solutions as we find information that may be helpful to you.  Please reach out to the Cleary Financial Aid Office at finaid@cleary.edu if you have questions.  We will be happy to help you find the answers that you need.  We are working with the Department of Education to get your 24-25 Financial Aid Packages out to you as soon as we can.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding!
