Cleary University is proud to continue its commitment to community engagement and support of the arts through a valued partnership with the Livingston Fine Arts Association (LFAA). As part of this ongoing collaboration, Cleary will host LFAA’s next meeting and artist demonstration on Monday, April 29, at Chrysler Hall—located just behind the Cleary Commons building on our main campus in Howell.
The event will feature a hands-on marbling activity led by Lora Garcelon, a highly respected watermedia artist and signature member of the Michigan Watercolor Society. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn several marbling techniques and see how Lora integrates them into her award-winning work. Her painting Morning Dispatch, which showcases this method, recently received honors from the Michigan Watercolor Society.
This event exemplifies Cleary’s belief that business and the arts are powerful partners. Hosting and supporting local creative organizations helps foster a well-rounded, culturally vibrant community—while encouraging innovation and fresh thinking across disciplines.
Lora Garcelon’s journey into art is a story of lifelong learning and reinvention. After earning a degree in pharmacy from The Ohio State University and raising a family, she returned to the arts, focusing on watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and collage. Her recent exploration of acrylic marbling has added a new layer of visual interest to her expressive, everyday subject matter.
Cleary University is honored to serve as a venue for this engaging event and invites the public to join in supporting local talent, celebrating the arts, and exploring the intersection of creativity and community.
