Susan Pominville Brings Art and Impact to Cleary University

On Tuesday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m., Cleary University will host artist and nonprofit founder Susan Pominville for her inspiring presentation, Color Outside the Lines: How Abstract Art Became a Movement for Good. The event, held in the Commons Building, Classroom 3, is open to the public and presented in partnership with the Livingston Fine Art Association (LFAA).

Pominville, a fine artist and creative strategist, is also the founder of ART Doing Good, Inc., a nonprofit that uses art as a catalyst for generosity and community impact. Since its founding in 2021, ART Doing Good has raised more than $70,000 to support families facing food insecurity, provide assistance for cancer patients, and bring people together through the healing and connective power of art.

What began as paint on canvas has evolved into a movement—one that blends artistic expression with meaningful action. Pominville’s work demonstrates how creativity can spark compassion, build community, and drive positive change.

Attendees can expect to learn about:

  • The raw, expressive process of intuitive abstract painting

  • The Palette Knife Shift – how one tool changed her creative approach

  • Art Doing Good – stories of how collaborative projects and limited-edition prints are making a lasting difference in people’s lives

Whether you’re an art lover, a creative spirit, or someone passionate about giving back, this event offers an opportunity to see how art can reach far beyond the canvas.

Cleary University is proud to serve as the host site for the Livingston Fine Art Association’s monthly meetings, as part of our broader mission to bring the arts into our academic and community spaces. Through this partnership, the Commons Building regularly features a rotating exhibit of LFAA member artwork, offering students, faculty, and visitors the chance to engage with the vibrant local arts community.

By welcoming artists like Susan Pominville to campus, Cleary continues to expand the ways in which education, creativity, and community connection intersect. Events like this reflect our belief that a well-rounded education includes exposure to the arts, diverse perspectives, and the stories of individuals who use their talents to make the world a better place.
