FAFSA- stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. FAFSA is only available for students are USA citizens, permanent residents, or have refugee or asylum status. International students on an F-1 visa are not eligible. In the USA this is also referred to as Financial Aid, which can commonly be confused as scholarships.
