Mark Newman

Adjunct Professor

Courses Taught

LAW 3200 Business Ethics and Legal Issues | Negotiations | Law for Accountants

Mark Newman earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and a Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School, which is now part of the University of Illinois in Chicago. He has worked as an attorney in private practice since 1997. His firm, located in Flint Township, Mich., specializes in business, collections, real estate planning, criminal matters and litigation.

Newman brings real-world experience to Cleary University, where he teaches Business Ethics and Legal Issues, a course that covers a wide range of legal principles that govern the structure and conduct of businesses. The survey course deals with such topics as the regulatory environments affecting business, business-to-business relationships and business ethics and social responsibility.

Newman layers teaching onto his busy schedule because he values interacting with his students, and feels having a background in business is important.

“It is an invaluable tool in any career,” he said.
